A 12 x 12ft full grid cloth — the heavier of our two grid weights, with a denser weave that softens shadows harder and costs more output. Fabric only; the 12x12 aluminium frame rents separately.

When it’s the right call

Heavier diffusion for maximum softening — when light grid still leaves shadows too crisp. The 12x12 covers whole scenes — two-shots, car exteriors, big windows.

Where to set it up

Same rigging as any cloth: between source and subject, closer to the subject for softer light. Needs its frame and two combo stands, cornered into the wind and bagged heavily.

Get the most out of it

  • Costs about a stop more than light grid — meter after you fly it
  • Doubles as a bounce in a pinch
  • Full grid + big source = shadowless commercial skin
