Aputure's Amaran PT2c is a 2-foot, battery-capable RGBWW tube — full-colour pixel FX, tunable 2,000–10,000K white, and app / sidus / DMX control in a fixture light enough to hide anywhere in frame.

When it’s the right call

When you want colour and shape in-frame without a big rig — practicals, edges and accents, monitor glow, car interiors, music-video colour, or a hidden hair light. It runs off its internal battery, so it goes places a plugged-in panel can't.

Where to set it up

Clamp, stand-mount, tape or hand-hold it just out of frame; dial the colour on the fixture or the Sidus Link app. Pixel FX (fire, TV, cop-car, lightning) live in the app too.

Get the most out of it

  • Push saturated colour just outside the frame for an edge/rim that reads as motivated
  • Two of them — warm key side, cool back side — instantly make a scene feel lit
  • Battery runtime drops fast at full RGB output; bring a USB-C power bank for long takes
