Aputure's 34.8in parabolic softbox for Bowens-mount fixtures — a deep-dish, quick-release rod frame with two diffusion cloths, a 45° fabric egg-crate grid and a carry bag.

When it’s the right call

The interview softbox — turns a 300-class LED into a big, flattering, wrap-around key that makes everyone look like they have good skin. If you light faces, this is the first modifier to add.

Where to set it up

Mounts on any Bowens light (LS300X, Nova with adapter); position 45° off-axis, just above eyeline, as close as the frame allows.

Get the most out of it

  • Both diffusion layers in = softest light; remove one for more punch
  • Add the grid to keep the background dark and moody
  • Closer is softer: start it just out of frame
