When it’s the right call

Interview-grade reflected light: bounce one hard source off these boards and you get a soft, naturalistic key that looks like real window bounce — with more depth and texture than a softbox. The 50cm boards are the right size for faces.

Where to set it up

Hard light (ideally through a Parallel Beam Intensifier) hits the board, board redirects to the face; keep the reflector relatively close to the subject and the source far.

Get the most out of it

• Boards are numbered 1–4: #1 near-mirror redirect, #2 spreads ~12°, #3 ~50°, #4 ~95°
• Over 95% efficient — you lose almost nothing in the bounce
• One beam can feed several boards: key, fill and backlight from a single lamp
• Reflected light is polarized — skin and surfaces gain a realistic texture
